Become a "Believer in the Dream"

Every week, your message moves your membership to support the ministry.

So, today I am hoping you will help me convey a very special message to your congregation. You can join our efforts to build a memorial on the National Mall to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; a man of peace and a man of God.

I ask of you two things.

First, review the Virtual Tour of the Memorial. It tells the remarkable story of our journey to build a lasting memorial – long overdue – to Dr. King.

Secondly, take an offering in support of the Memorial. Please combine all the contributions into one check and mail it to Kerry-Ann Powell, c/o MLK Memorial Foundation, 401 F Street, NW, Suite 334, Washington, DC 20001-2637.  Or, if it’s more convenient, you can make a donation by clicking here.  Please make sure to include the name and address of your church in order to give your church credit for this donation. Listed below are the different levels of giving and the various benefits.

Levels of Giving

A financial contribution to the Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation is timeless. This Memorial will allow thousands of people to come and pay respect to a man who brought justice and God to people who had begun to lose faith.

With a contribution of $10,000 or more, your congregation will receive a “Believers in the Dream” Plaque of the Memorial with your church’s name engraved on it – as a constant reminder of your faith in God, our country and in Dr. King’s “Dream” for equality and peace.

A $25,000 donation will award your church with the same plaque described above along with two tickets for your Spiritual Leader to attend the Dedication in Washington, D.C.

With a donation in either of the amounts above, your congregation’s name will be read at the 2009 Dedication of the Memorial – a permanent “thank you” for believing in his “Dream.”

A church donating $50,000 to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial will receive all of the benefits listed above, as well as:

• Two additional tickets (four total) for your Spiritual Leader to attend the Dedication in Washington, D.C.;
• VIP seating for your Spiritual Leader at the Dedication event;
• VIP seating for your church’s attendees at the Spiritual Service before the Dedication event;
• An announcement of your church’s name and donation at the Spiritual Service;
• A Tiffany & Co. crystal statue engraved with your church’s name and donation amount.

A $100,000 contribution will entitle your church to all of the aforementioned benefits, plus:

• Your attendees will be invited to the 2009 Dedication of the Memorial;
• An invitation to the “Believer's Breakfast” at the 2009 Dedication.

By supporting the Memorial with a financial gift, you will truly be helping us to build Dr. King’s “Dream” – and allowing us to share that dream with every person who visits the Memorial.
